Advanced e-commerce reporting
I expanded a client’s system with a report that brings together sales, product costs, marketplace fees, advertising, shipping, adjustments and returns. It shows the sales result based on the available data in one view.

From revenue to the sales result
Revenue alone does not show what remains after costs. For one of my clients, I expanded an e-commerce system with a report that compares net sales with the costs available in the source data. This takes the analysis beyond order value.
Filter by period, channel and account
I added filters for the date range, marketplace and sales account. Summary cards show sales, known purchase costs and known fees and expenses for the selected scope. This makes it easier to analyse a particular channel separately from other accounts.
Costs, adjustments and returns
The breakdown separates platform commissions and fees, advertising, shipping, fee adjustments and return handling. The report also shows sales adjustments, sales after adjustments and the recovered cost of returned goods. These components help explain the reported result.
Clear data completeness indicators
The report distinguishes confirmed costs from missing information. An unknown cost is not treated as zero simply because it has not arrived from the source system. Users can assess whether the data supports a decision or needs to be completed first.
A basis for sales decisions
The report helps identify cost components worth investigating and understand a channel’s sales result using the available data. This case study describes the module’s scope without disclosing the client’s financial results or claiming unmeasured savings.
Scope of implementation
- Filters for the reporting period, marketplace and sales account.
- Net sales, known purchase costs, fees and expenses in one report.
- Sales adjustments and the recovered cost of returned goods.
- A breakdown of commissions, advertising, shipping and return handling costs.
- A distinction between confirmed costs and missing data.
The result depends on data completeness for the selected channel and period. Missing costs are not treated as zero. The report supports sales profitability analysis; it does not replace an accounting profit and loss statement.
The brand name is withheld on request. This description explains the work without disclosing client data or internal materials.
